Virtus.pro have booked their place in the Copenhagen Games grand final following a 2-1 victory over Team SoloMid (12-16 on de_mirage and 16-14 on de_nuke and de_cache.

In the match between arguably the two red-hot favourites to clinch the Copenhagen Games title, it was the little details that proved decisive in determining the first team to go through to the grand final.

Starting off on the Terrorist side of de_mirage, Team SoloMid came out the brighter and won the opening two rounds of the half, but Virtus.pro picked themselves up during gun play and went into the break up 10-5. On the CT side of the map, the Danes were simply far too hot to handle, conceding just two rounds before securing a 16-12 victory.

Next up was de_nuke, which was not as CT-oriented as one would expect: TSM finished the half sitting on a 9-6 lead after playing on the defensive side of the map, and Virtus.pro fared only a little bit better as they sealed the win in the final round.

The decisive map was de_cache, where Team SoloMid turned in a solid display as CT by picking up 10 rounds. But the Danes once again fell at the last hurdle and gave away the lead as Virtus.pro earned a 16-14 victory to advance to the title decider.
